Jhonen Vasquez's "Invader Zim" wins our award of "Toon of The Month"! Invader Zim is an animated comedy cartoon that was aired on Nickelodeon from 2001-2002. It was about A small alien called Zim from the imperialistic Irken race,he is jokingly tasked to try to explore the unknown planet earth. Before he leaves he is given a reject robot to help but Zim was not told about his difference from the other robots. This robot is named GIR. The show follows take over crazy adventures of Zim and GIR on earth. The show was sadly canceled mid-season during season 2. "Invader Zim" has won Toon of The Month because of it artistic way of being creepy and eerie, but still being a kids show. The show the whole time you watch it, gives an eerie vibe to an older audience, and a quite creepy one it is, but as a kid I never felt this eerie feeling. Its so well hidden by the writing and comedy. Its art shows this creepy feeling as well as some adult jokes strewed about. Its still an amazing cartoon and an amazing piece of animation history.
