Animator of the month

Butch Hartman

Butch Hartman is a cartoon legend. He created The Fairly Odd Parents, Danny Phantom, T.U.F.F Puppy, and Bunsen is a Beast, for the channel Nickelodeon. He started off with his own shows at the studio by selling animated shorts for Fred Seibert's "Oh Yeah! Cartoons" cartoon pilot block. These animated shorts were the first Fairly Odd Parents. The popularity of those shorts were so monstrous that he was signed instantly to make more. Nick continued to air the same six shorts Hartman made until more were done. In this time the new episodes were being made Hartman was also working on spin-off flash cartoons of the Fairly Odd Parents character "The Crimson Chin". Hartman also went through the

trouble of re-dubbing the pilots with Timmy's new voice Tara Strong after his original actress Mary Kay Bergman passed away after the pilots release. After the success of The Fairly Odd Parents, Nick then offered Hartman to make his new cartoon while also working on The Fairly Odd Parents; this new cartoon was Danny Phantom. Danny Phantom also hit big success and is still thought of fondly by fans. Sadly Danny Phantom ended after three seasons when it was cancelled  August 24, 2007 . His next big project at Nickelodeon was a project with Nick actor Jerry Trainor called T.U.F.F. Puppy. The show continued with mixed reviews on the show, T.U.F.F. Puppy ended its run with 3 seasons on April 4, 2015. His next project was Bunsen is a Beast in 2017. This cartoon was planned to be made for awhile to come, but on February 8th, 2018, Butch Hartman announced he would be leaving Nickelodeon and that Bunsen is a Beast will only be one season, also all his other running shows on Nick will end production. That's where Hartman's career is at the current moment. He is still working just no longer at Nickelodeon studios. He earns February 2018's Animator of the Month for his amazing contributions to animation and Nickelodeon as a whole.
